Campbeltown Malts Festival Announcement

We are pleased to announce the first details of the Campbeltown Malts Festival 2017. The Campbeltown Malts Festival will take place from Wednesday 24th - Friday 26th May 2017 and once again we will host events in celebration of the whiskies produced here in Campbeltown.

All booking enquiries should be sent to Mairi Paterson who can be contacted by email to mairi@springbank.scot (please note this is a new email address) or by phone call to +44 (0) 1586 552009.

Wednesday 24th May 2017

On the first day of the festival, there will be a range of events taking place. Most events have still to be confirmed but in the evening, we will hold a dinner at Springbank Distillery.

The Springbank Distillery Dinner

For the fifth year running, we will be hosting an exclusive dinner at the distillery on the eve of our Open Day. This year, guests will be treated to dinner in the surroundings of our unique Bottling Hall. This will take place on Wednesday 24th May 2017 at 7pm.

On arrival to Springbank Distillery, you will be greeted with a champagne reception which will also feature a range of locally sourced canapés.

Following this, you will sample a selection of whiskies, hand drawn from the cask by a member of our senior production team. The most popular choice will be bottled for you to take home on the night.

You will then be led to your table to enjoy a four course meal with a specially selected wine to accompany each course.

To end your unique experience, each attendee will be presented with their own exclusive 70cl hand drawn bottle, chosen earlier in the evening.

Throughout the evening, staff from J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd. will be present to chat to and share some drams with.

The cost of the dinner is £250.00 per person and payment is required upon booking to secure your place.

Numbers are limited to 50 people so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

There will be a set menu so please advise us of any dietary requirements you have when booking.

To book your place, please email mairi@springbank.scot or call +44 (0) 1586 552009.

In addition to the events which we are hosting, we are delighted to announce that local business Whisky Impressions will be hosting 3 exciting events during the festival:

Tuesday 23rd May - Walk to the Water Source. 4pm - 6pm, Meet Springbank Car Park - £10

A bit of exercise to counteract the whisky! Join me on a walk to Crosshill Loch, water source for all 3 distilleries in Campbeltown. It's mainly tracks but sensible footwear is recommended. There will be some (hopefully!) great views (weather dependent) and I'll provide a wee dram and some Scottish goodies when we get there.

Tuesday 23rd May - Tenuous Links Tasting. 8pm - 9.30pm, Kilbrannan Bar -  £20

A tasting of 5 non-Campbeltown drams which all have some kind of link (some more tenuous than others) to the Wee Toon. Who knows, you might even learn something (no promises though!)

Wednesday 24th May - Liquid History Tour. 3pm - 5.30pm, Top of the Pier - £20

A walking tour taking in the sites of Campbeltown's illustrious distilling history, with a few drams, and a behind the scenes look at a closed distillery or two along the way.

Please contact Kate by emailing info@whiskyimpressions.com to make your bookings.

More information on the festival will be released in due course - less than 4 months to go!
