| I picked up one of these from a whisky shop some while ago (when the prices were only outlandish!), but have no idea when it was bottled (jugged). I understand it was for the export market, but can anyone tell me the approximate date and what bottling it equates to; ie is it from the same run as the 1 of 2400 or the mid nineties version, or is it just a one off - if so, what is the difference? - it seems to be a slightly lower volume (43% I think from memory). Thanks, Paul |

HI Paul,
We bottled these ceramics over many years, with the last bottling being in 2004 (the same time as the last 21 year old). The problem is that there is no way of telling the difference between the years. The only advice I can give is that the evaporation in these was always very high, so if it is still full, then the chances are it was bottled in 2004, meaning that the whisky in your ceramic is from 1969/1971 (the same as the Springbank 21, 1 of 2400 bottles), therefore 33-35 year old whisky.
Maybe the price doesn't seem so outlandish now
cheers

| Okay - thanks for that. Seems pretty full and a decent enough seal, but maybe I better start looking for a reason to crack it open! |
